Art Direction & Design
for Thread Magazine
Thread is Kin + Carta’s quarterly magazine that cuts through the complexity of digital transformation making sustainable change real and achievable. I was responsible for overseeing and art direction of 6 issues, working with two seperate agencies. I also produced social media assets in-house to promote the magazine.
Logo
The stakeholders were keen to have an editorial feel to the magazine and avoid using heavy Kin + Carta branding.
A new logo was created, extracting the plus icon from the Kin + Carta logo and using it to form this new logo for Thread.
Page designs
A section of spreads designed for various issues. The magazine was intended to be digital first and was then subsqently adapted for print later down the line at marketing’s request. It was key that the publication had a mature and confident look & feel.
Social posts
A few of the social posts created to promote the magazine on company channels. Translating key visuals from the magazine itself and adapting them into different formats such as 1:1 posts, carosuels and 16:9 posts. These were primarly used on Linkedin and Instagram in order to drive traffic to the downloads page.
